Class Code: 9154

Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:

Code 9154 is assigned to “all other employees” of theaters, other than players, entertainers or musicians and those employees qualifying under the Standard Exception Classifications rule of the Basic Manual. Such employees specifically enumerated in the footnote to this classification are managers, stagehands, box office employees, ushers, and motion picture operators.

This classification also applies to stagehands, box office employees, and ushers employed by a traveling theater production company and to such employees where the theatrical production company conducts its operations in auditoriums, stadiums, arenas and tents, as well as outdoor productions in parks, etc.

Code 9154 is assigned to stagehands and other employees directly connected with the theatrical production activity of a dinner theater when the theater operations predominate, that is, the payroll normally assignable to the theater classifications (Codes 9154 and 9156) is more than 50% of the total payroll.

This classification additionally is applied to employers engaged in the operation of drive-in theaters. The classification contemplates all employees, i.e., managers, projectionists, cashiers, ramp persons, clockers, repairers of speakers, security people, and refreshment stand employees.

Certain Code 9154 operations are designated as “not otherwise classified” (NOC). These NOC operations apply to an employer only when no other classification more specifically describes the employer’s operations. The following is a representative list of classifications somewhat related in nature to Code 9154 operations that are not assigned to Code 9154:

9180 Amusement Device Operation NOC
9016 Amusement Park or Exhibition
9182 Athletic Stadium
9156 Theater NOC—Players, Entertainers or Musicians
