Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:

Code 8204 encompasses dealers who sell a wide range of secondhand building materials. Some new materials may also be handled. Materials are generally obtained from wrecked buildings. The storage and renovation of the materials also fall within this class. Renovation can include incidental woodworking machine operations, incidental pipe bending and cutting operations, salvaged steel cutting operations, brick cleaning, etc. Oil or gas well supplies or equipment dealers handle materials such as salvaged pipe and casings, sucker rods, fittings, pumps and pump jacks, tanks, gas engines, drilling rigs, tools, etc., which are brought into the yard where pipe is cleaned inside and out, rethreaded as necessary and stored on racks. Other equipment is reconditioned as required and stored for later sale.

State Addendum
Massachusetts Refer to Code 5701—Wrecking—Building or Structures—Not Marine—All Operations—and note that as detailed in that classification’s footnote, drivers are to be separately rated under Code 8204 (specifically, those truck drivers whose duties are limited exclusively to hauling salvaged materials and/or debris away from the wrecking or demolition site). Drivers engaged in extricating salvageable equipment and materials or loading trucks, manually or via mobile equipment, are properly assigned to Code 5701.
