Class Code: 7382
Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:
Applies to employers operating bus companies. This includes transit bus lines, charter buses, tour lines, and airport buses. The classification includes drivers and all employees other than their garage employees, who are separately rated to Code 8385. Bus terminals, when operated by individual bus lines or terminals maintained by associated bus companies, are also included within the scope of Code 7382. These employers employ supervisors, dispatchers, inspectors, and terminal employees such as managers, assistant managers, janitors, and porters or baggage handlers. Ticket sellers may be separately classified to Code 8810, provided they are physically separated and perform no other duties required in the operation of bus terminals. Private bus companies that contract to transport tourists may also employ hostesses, lecturers, or guides. Additionally, drivers of school buses employed by independent contractors are assigned to this classification.
Code 7382 is not intended for drivers (chauffeurs) of employers that are not in the business of transporting the public. Please refer to Code 7380 for a description of these chauffeurs and the basis for assigning them to Code 7380.
Pilot cars are vehicles that lead other vehicles down a road. These other vehicles usually transport wide loads such as construction equipment or mobile homes. Employers that provide pilot car services are assigned to Code 7382.
Refer to Code 7370 for taxi companies.
Refer to Code 7219 for classification procedures for dispatchers.
