Class Code: 3830
Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:
Applies to employers that manufacture airplanes. Code 3830 includes the manufacture of airplane engines or airplane subassemblies such as cowlings, wing tabs, ailerons, panels, doors, struts, tail assemblies, exhaust manifolds, etc., when these aircraft components are manufactured by an airplane manufacturer or an employer that manufactures and assembles or only assembles complete wings or fuselages. Specialists who manufacture the described components and do not perform airplane manufacturing or manufacture or assembly of complete wings or fuselages are not included in Code 3830. Refer to Code 3826 for specialists who manufacture aircraft engines. Wing or fuselage production ordinarily involves considerable wiring or installation of equipment received from others. The production of the complete airplane would involve the installation of all instruments, navigation and control equipment, engines, connecting of fuel and electrical systems, assembling wings and tail assemblies to the fuselage, attaching landing gears and connecting of the brake system. Employees of any airplane manufacturing plant that perform contract airplane modification, repair or maintenance work away from the plant are assigned to Code 3830.
