Per NCCI's Scopes Code Description:
Code 3726 is applied to contractors specializing in the installation or repair of commercial or industrial high-pressure or large low-pressure steam boilers including the construction or repair of the boiler foundations. Domestic boiler installations are classified to Code 5183.
Boiler installations generally involve excavation, concrete or masonry foundation work; rigging or slinging of drums and headers into place; setting of tubes into headers; installation of super heating units; and installation of all steam fitting work up to but not beyond the header valves, blow-off valves and water intake valves. Work beyond the installation of these valves involving activities of a plumbing nature is classified to Code 5183. The installation of breeching by steam boiler erectors is included under Code 3726.
Code 3726 is also applied to contractors specializing in the installation or repair of commercial or industrial tanks within buildings including the construction or repair of the tank foundations. The operations are similar to boiler installation and repair in that these contractors perform excavation, foundation work, rigging and installation of the tank auxiliary services.
Specialist contractors engaged in commercial or industrial boiler scaling and the cleaning of tanks or tank cars are also assigned to this classification. The operations involve the removal of boiler scales or residue from tanks or tank cars using either chemicals, steam or mechanical methods.
The coating of beer vats with chemicals is contemplated by Code 3726.

Massachusetts Code 3726 is also applied to specialist contractors engaged in all operations at a particular location which are necessary to the erection or repair of a complete oil still.
