Code 3227 encompasses the manufacture of domestic cooking pots and pans made from sheet aluminum and contemplates a combination of drawing and spinning operations. Parts may be anodized and some may have a Teflon-type coating. The finishing operations involve trimming, buffing, polishing, degreasing, etching, assembling and packing.

While the classification phraseology indicates the use of sheet aluminum, Code 3227 has been extended to include the manufacture of extruded aluminum products such as angles, channels, H and Ts, bar stock, trim, moldings and small aluminum braces of various types. The operations include the cutting of aluminum ingots and billets to size, treating in an electric or gas fired furnace, the feeding to hydraulic extrusion presses to force the metal through dies to form the extrusions, stretching, straightening, cutting, polishing, drilling, wrapping and packing.
