Code 3169 covers the manufacture of gas and electric ranges and hot water heaters, heating stoves, stoves that burn coal, oil or wood, kilns, bake ovens, curing ovens and oil or gas fired furnaces. The aforementioned products may be made from cast iron, sheet metal or a combination of cast iron and sheet metal and may or may not contain fire brick insulation.
This classification includes a wide variety of processes to manufacture the finished product that may include but are not limited to cutting and shaping of sheet metal, welding, piping work, shearing, blanking, molding, painting and any other work necessary to complete the final product. The classification is all-inclusive regardless of the raw materials entering into the manufactured product or the type and kind of oven or stove turned out.
Code 3076 applies to the manufacture of “old-type” warm air ovens, which are strictly sheet metal products that contain no mechanical equipment.
Massachusetts Code 3066 would be applicable to the manufacture of “old-type” warm air ovens, which are strictly sheet metal products that contain no mechanical equipment. Code 3169 also applies to the manufacture of cast iron heaters and radiators.
