Code 2759 contemplates the manufacture or assembly of various types of wooden boxes or wooden crates. Code 2759 also contemplates the manufacture of box shooks or pallets. Box shooks are defined as bundles of parts that are ready to be assembled into boxes. Pallets are defined as portable platforms used for handling, storing or moving goods. Products described in this scope are manufactured using standard woodworking tools that are hand or electrically powered. Tools used include but are not limited to saws, hammers, planes, tonguing and grooving equipment, and sanders.
The manufacture of wooden skids is also contemplated by Code 2759. Skids may be defined as one of a group of objects (as planks or logs) used to support or elevate a structure or object or as timbers, bars, rails, poles, or logs used in pairs or sets to form a slideway (as for an incline from a truck to the sidewalk).
