CROSS-REF. State Special: Arizona—Farm—Dairy—All Employees;

California—Dairy Farms—this classification applies to all acreage devoted to the production of milk or cream. The payroll of route drivers delivering bottled milk to retail customers and performing no other duties on the farm premises may be segregated and classified as Code 2063—Creameries and Dairy Products Mfg. The dairy farms classification shall also include acreage devoted to the raising of goats;

Massachusetts—Farm Products—Dairy Farms;

Oregon—Farm—Dairy & Drivers—processing of raw milk received from others and mfg. of butter, cheese, and ice cream to be separately rated. Growing and harvesting of crops used as feed for the insured’s own cattle is assigned to Code 0037, provided verifiable payroll records are maintained. In the event the payroll records do not reveal an accurate segregation of payroll between Code 0036 and Code 0037, the entire payroll must be assigned to Code 0036. The proportionate acreage method of dividing payroll between classifications, as described in Rule 1-D-3-e, does not apply to Code 0036 when used in connection with Code 0037.

SCOPE Code 0036 applies to all acreage or facilities devoted to producing milk or cream.

State Addendum
Massachusetts The processing of raw milk is an operation that is to be separately rated under Code 2070 in accordance with MA Manual Rule IV-D-4. Accordingly, the raw milk need not be received from outside sources for a risk to qualify for assignment to Code 2070.
