CROSS-REF. TURPENTINE FARM & DRIVERS

(N/A TX)

Note: Includes the incidental distillation of turpentine or resin from tree gums. Removal of stumps, logging, or lumbering, wood distillation to be separately rated.

Description:
Turpentine farm operations are principally the harvesting of the sap from tracts of pine timber. Such operations involve the slashing of trees, collecting the resulting sap in partly coagulated form and hauling the gum to the still. This classification further contemplates the heating of the pine gum, which gives off a vapor consisting of turpentine and water. The vapor is then collected and later condensed into liquid.
